Spicer Seminar

Yo haven't written in a while but I got some things to add.

First when doing my bottom game especially from half guard I got to focus on "rocking the canoe" or generating momentum for my sweeps. My deep half guard has improved, I added two stripes to my belt so that makes 3. Almost there just got to shore up some things.

Defense first.
Key areas I got to start remembering.
1. Move your ASS!!! I'm staying flat and being lazy.
2. Try Spicer's barrel roll trick from side and KOB if they aren't controlling the far side. You swing your legs and roll out from the position.
3. From the back think about going higher up on them if they have your back bridging your head above them and escaping.

He brought back the omoplata sweep which I confess to have ignored for a little while. I used to love this thing.

Omoplata sweep.
1. Go thumb in the collar and swim an arm underneath their thigh while getting an angle toward that same arm.
2.Pendulum your hips out, squeeze your knees, control the leg and roll over your side.

Shin sweep-if they grab your belt and don't let you pendulum sweep.

1. Control the triceps on the arm grabbing your belt
2. Underhook the leg close to your free arm
3. Extend while gripping the triceps, and raising the leg coming up on top.
